Sensei Jimmy- Owner and Lead Instructor
Sensei James Stevens Jr. is the owner and lead instructor here at West Coast Karate. Sensei “Jimmy” is a Florida native. He has been practicing martial arts for 18 years, training hundreds of students over the last 14 years. He was named the 2023 Regional Winner of the Double Goal Coaching Award by the Positive Coaching Alliance. He rose to the top of our hundreds of National competitors for his model of striving to win, while pursuing teaching life lessons.
Sensei Richard
Sensei Richard He has been practicing martial arts for 15 years. He is a 2022 AAU gold national medalist and a WUKF World Karate Silver medalist from the 2022 International competitions.
Sensei Ben
Sensei Ben hold a Ni-Dan in Isshinryu karate. He has been practicing martial arts for 13 years. He is a 2022 AAU Gold National medalist, 2023 Silver National Medalist, a 2-time World United Karate Federation, Bronze Medalist from the 2023 International competitions in Scotland, a Silver Medalist in the Advanced Kilo Kumite and Bronze Medalist in Advanced Open Weight Kumite at the 2024 World United Karate Federation International Competition in Monterrey, Mexico. He is also a 2-time Gold Medalist from the 2024 Las Vegas North American Open.

Sensei Leia After School Program Assistant
Sensei Leia has been practicing martial arts for 13 years. She is the Assistant Director of our after-school program. She has worked in childcare and youth services for 7 years.
